Cody found his way to our home and hearts because, without a sliver of doubt, luck was on his side. He came from a shelter in Tulsa who only had the following information:
Tommy was an owner surrender at Palm Valley Animal Center in Edinburg Texas. He was in very rough shape when we took him in. He is a very nice dog but fairly shy. He wouldn’t walk on a leash when he arrived but has made some progress. He is approximately 2-3 years old.
I knew then that he should come home to us. When we got home, it was apparent that Cody was not in great health. He had bald patches throughout his body, and in the places where he had hair, it was terribly matted. After a visit with the vet the next day, we learned that he had skin issues including demodectic mange, a double ear infection, eye infection, had worms, and severely malnourished. He was only 42 pounds.
Almost 3 years later, Cody looks like a completely different dog. His skin and hair have recovered beautifully. Cody is now a happy, spoiled, sweet ball of fluff. He is obsessed with tennis balls and going to the dog park down the street. He loves car rides and has traveled and sniffed new places across Washington and even Canada! Cody is one lucky dog!
